Interestingly, according to some studies, organisms causing Stds can live outside the body on surfaces for a certain period ranging from few minutes to several hrs or even days. They may exist on sex toys if not properly washed.

I second Username2, but it majorly depends on the kind of Std. Some like herpes and Hpv can indeed live on surfaces like sex toys, specially when these toys aren't properly washed.
