what's the story behind Paul Mccarthy's butt plug sculptures?

can somebody explain to me what's with Paul Mccarthy and the butt plug sculptures? I've seen them referenced a lot lately, and I'm a bit confused. Huh

Oh, Paul Mccarthy's operates are often controversial. His use of inflatables, like those formed like butt plugs, are meant to confront the viewers with uncomfortable subjects.

He's known to take everyday objects and enlarge them to gigantic proportions, usually creating people feel uncomfortable or even outraged with the erogenous connotations. It's absolutely provocative.

I keep in mind one of his most controversial works was in Paris, a giant inflatable sculpture that was dubbed as a 'butt plug' by the media te. It developed an uproar and was even vandalised.

but yeah, provocative is an understatement when it comes to Mccarthy's work. :d
