Can Control Arms Cause Vibration While Driving?
#1
i've been noticing a lot of vibration in my car lately, especially when I'm driving at higher speeds. Could this be caused by bad control arms?

yes, absolutely! If your control arms are worn out or the bushings are damaged, they can definitely cause pulse. The control arms keep your wheels in proper alignment, so when they're worn, the wheels can wobble a bit, which leads to shaking.

I had a related issue last year. My car was pulsate, particularly when accelerating, and it turned out that the control arm bushings were shot. Replacing them solved the trouble. I'd advise getting them checked out soon before they trigger more damage.

it's also possible that the ball joints connected to the control arms are loose or worn. That can trigger vibrations too. If you notice any clunking sounds when going over bumps, that's another sign the control arms or their components might be the situation.

don't overlook to check out the tires and wheel balance too. Occasionally people think it's the control arms when it's just an unbalanced tire or an alignment situation. But if you've already ruled those out, the control arms are a likely culprit.

thanks for the advice! I was pondering of getting it to the mechanic anyway. I'll ask them to check the control arms and the bushings just to be sure.
