personally, I found the process for adjusting amplitude to be a bit tricky at first. Found this neat table online that walked me through it. Here it is:

step	process
1	loosen the hairspring stud tail screw.
2	move the hairspring stud closer or farther away from the balance wheel pivot.
3	tighten the screw back once the desired amplitude is reached.
