can any person suggest the best way to get started with butt plugs? I've heard there can be challenges.

Yes, I found some challenges when I first began out. It's all on starting up tiny and utilizing lots of lube. Don't rush, take your time, and invariably hear to your body.

I got started with a set of beginner plugs that progressively enhanced in size. Greatly recommend!
